Description

The Tascam BD-MP1 is a rackmount media player offering playback from Blu-ray, DVD, and CD discs as well as SD cards and USB flash drives, making it ideal for houses of worship, educational institutions, theaters, conference spaces, and more. It supports an array of disc and file formats to accommodate presentation of video, images, and audio.

With its host of outputs including HDMI, balanced stereo XLR, unbalanced stereo RCA, 7.1 surround sound, and digital coaxial ports, the BD-MP1 lets you route audio to multiple destinations while sending video to a monitor or projector. Special modes such as power-on play and repeat allow fast and fluid operation, and undesired access can be prevented by engaging the panel, IR, and tray lock functions.

Whether your setup is basic or sophisticated, you can easily control the BD-MP1 via the straightforward front-panel buttons, the supplied wireless remote, LAN, or RS-232C. Occupying just 1 RU of rackspace, the BD-MP1 integrates smoothly into equipment racks or tabletop configurations.

DVD/CD, SD Card, and USB Flash Memory Options
The versatile BD-MP1 can automatically play content in a wide range of file formats via any of the three front-panel media input slots—a Blu-ray/DVD/CD tray, a USB flash memory port, and an SD card slot.

The BD-MP1 eliminates the need for discrete audio/video playback devices in an installation by offering single-source playback for a wide range of disc media—Blu-ray (BD25, BD50, BD-ROM, BD-R, BD-RE), DVD (DVD-ROM, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW), and CD (CD-DA, CD-R, CD-RW)—and disc types—Blu-ray (BDMV, BDAV) and DVD (DVD-Video, DVD-VR, AVCHD).

Versatile File Format Support
The BD-MP1 is an ideal single-source playback solution for commercial installations, supporting an extensive range of file formats including video (ASF, MPG, AVI, 3GP, DAT, MKV, MOV, M2TS, OGM, TP, TS, MP4, WMV), image (JPEG, GIF, PNG), and audio (WAV, MP3, WMA, AAC, FLAC, APE).

Power-On Play and Repeat Mode
The power-on play feature allows the BD-MP1 to start playing desired content immediately on power up without having to press play. With repeat mode enabled, content will automatically start, loop, and play continuously until power is turned off.

Panel Lock for Secure Operation
Panel lock, IR, and tray lock functions prevent accidental or user-error operation or alteration of controls in commercial installations, helping ensure consistent and reliable performance in any installation.

Hide Menu Function
The monitor display can be set to show a black screen during start-up rather than the manufacturer's standard factory setup and source select menus, creating an elegant and non-distracting visual start-up environment each time the system is turned on.

Dual USB Memory Ports
Two USB Type-A memory ports—one on the front panel and one on the back—allow fixed or interchangeable access to USB memory data for playback versatility.

HDMI Output for Connecting Displays
A standard rear-panel HDMI output connection provides easy, reliable, plug-and-play connection to any HDMI-compatible monitor display or television.

Balanced and Unbalanced Outputs

Coaxial Digital Audio Output Connection
The BD-MP1 provides support for professional-grade digital audio output formats including Dolby, DTS, and others via a back-panel coaxial digital output connection. Playback of two-channel linear PCM is also supported.

7.1 Surround Sound
Immersive audio playback for any commercial installation is provided via 7.1 surround sound audio outputs—front left and right (FL/FR), center (C), side left and right (SL/SR), surround back left and right (SBL/SBR), and subwoofer (SW).
IP and RS-232C Ports for External Remote Control
Seamless two-way device status feedback and control is offered for professional installations via back-panel RS-232C and Ethernet connections, enabling the BD-MP1 to be integrated into more sophisticated A/V setups.

Fully Accessible Front-Panel Control
Control and operation of the BD-MP1's stop, play, pause, and fast forward functions as well as navigation of the menu setup without the IR remote controller is made possible by easily accessible front-panel control buttons, which can be locked/unlocked as desired.
